Vestas' new global headquarter will be 23,000 m2. It will be the first Scandinavian building which can be LEED certified in the best category -- Platinum. Only around 150 commercial buildings in the world have achieved platinum certification.
Rain water is collected and used to flush toilets and water the grounds.
Denmark's largest combined geothermal energy system, with 36 km of piping, will supply the building with both heating and cooling capacity.
All of the building's waste will be sorted, and kitchen waste will be composted.
The majority of the building materials are regional -- acquired within a radius of 800 km, in order to minimise the transport associated with construction.
In November 2011 we will open the doors.
